Does MBC have short term missionary opportunities available? | Print |

The Missions Commission at MBC was formed November 2004.  We said “Yes” and the Lord started opening many doors of opportunity for us to serve Him on the mission field, which is everywhere!There is an ongoing cooking ministry that has taken five teams to the Navajo Indian Reservation.   We have had individuals being called also.  These loved ones have been obedient to the call and have gone, or are going, to the south Pacific, Kenya, Life Action, The Continental Singers, Mexico, and Antigua, Thailand.   We also hear regularly from our missionaries we support in the field.  As we encourage them with prayer and financial support we have also been invited to go to Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Ghana, Africa to name three.  The opportunities for ministry are in the areas of church planting, helping in building construction projects of schools and orphanages and evangelism.  The invitations have been extended, the need is there, now we need to pray and see the Lord’s will in when and where!  As we, that is the church family of MBC, live out our faith in obedience we are witnessing how faithful He is to lead us to where he is working.  Each of us is responsible to serve as missionary; whether it is praying, going or giving, or perhaps all three, it is a commandment from God.  (See Matthew 28:18-20)

    We have an application process to go through which is used as a tool to help one sort out how the Lord may use them as a missionary.  If a person feels they would like to serve they can contact the church office or anyone on the Missions Commission for the details.  The applications are prayerfully considered and there is an interview process to complete also with the Missions Commission.  One of the primary responsibilities of the Mission Commission is to train and equip the Lord’s servants who come forward to serve in this capacity.  We welcome any and all people who feel the Lord’s prompting in serving as a missionary.
